Carbon Footprint Calculations
The term 'footprint' is used to measure the impact of human
activity on the earth's environment. A carbon footprint
specifically calculates the amount of emitted greenhouse gases,
measured in tonnes of CO2.
More and more organisations make an annual carbon footprint
calculation, and use this in their annual reporting. After all, a
thorough analysis of the current energy consumption is the first
step in formulating targets for reduction and switching to green
energy. The ultimate goal of these measures is to reduce the
footprint to zero.
You can perform a simple calculation with our Office
Carbon Calculator, which measures the CO2 emissions resulting
from office energy consumption, as well as transportation by car,
plane and public transportation. We also have a calculator
specifically for events, the Event Carbon
Calculator.
For more complex carbon footprint calculations, we offer custom
services. These include detailed analyses of office energy
consumption (including paper use, waste cycles, etc.), and
breakdowns of the CO2 emissions of every individual plane trip. A
widely used international accounting tool is the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG
Protocol). A related Dutch tool is the socalled CO2-Prestatieladder.
